BIRTH OF BLIND AWARENESS

Hi there, I'm Kyle Tyler Noremberg, also known as Blind Havok. I was diagnosed with Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) in 2004 when I was seventeen. Back in 2010, when I joined Facebook, I didn't know anyone else with sight loss on the platform. I started searching for groups or pages specific to my eye condition, and luckily, I found some. Later on, I decided to look for a larger group that included people with different eye conditions. Once again, I was fortunate enough to find one.
Reading the stories shared by group members, ranging from tales of depression to stories of success, inspired me to create a page. On July 8th, 2018, I launched the Blind Awareness page. Its purpose is not only to provide useful resources for blind and visually impaired individuals, but also to raise awareness among sighted people.
The Blind Awareness page has been steadily growing as more visitors engage with the posts, show support, and share with others. I sincerely appreciate your participation and contribution in raising awareness for blind and visually impaired people worldwide. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
